chipotle barbecue sauce
2 cups
2 tablespoonsvegetable oil
1yellow onion, chopped
4 clovesgarlic, chopped
½ cupwater
1 cupketchup
1 tablespoonred wine vinegar
1 tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
1 tablespoonmolasses
1 tablespoonhoney
1 tablespoonDijon mustard
2 tablespoonschipotle purée
2 tablespoonsdark brown sugar
2 tablespoonsancho chili powder
1 tablespoonground paprika
kosher salt
ground black pepper
  1. Sweat onion in oil until translucent.
  2. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 15 minutes.
  4. Purée with hand blender.
